Setting Routines
Proactively solving for the non-negotiable, systematic things in our life (like laundry and dinner) frees up valuable headspace and keeps things flowing as smoothly as possible in our homes and relationships. Setting base habits for these areas prevents us from growing irritable and overwhelmed in the scope of our daily responsibilities, and helps us to react and adjust gracefully when life happens.
While we may not even realize it, identifying our base routines frees up precious energy and allows us to use this instead towards things that are actually important. And, if we can keep ourselves accountable to these set routines, it also frees us up to serve others and glorify God most effectively.
By taking just a little time to sit and think, we can stay rooted in reality instead of in wishful thinking. Our lives really don’t have to be chaotic. We aren’t doomed to be forever reacting in annoyance to every little thing that interrupts our day.
We’ve created this simple guide to help you identify what actually matters to you, and how you can best make that happen. You can find this in the first few pages of your 2024 planner, or you can download a blank copy here.
To help spur ideas, we’ve also provided a sample guide for this activity:
Wishing you peace and success,
