An East to West Campaign to encourage intentionality and joy.
We all get that happy feeling when we open our mailbox and there is a package or a letter that is PERSONAL. Not just a random magazine or an advertisement flier, but a package that’s personally addressed to US. That’s what handwritten letters also do, and it is also becoming a lost art in our society.
Honestly, it seems to be a lost art, because, from our opinion, people do not want to take the time. Not only take the time to WRITE the letter, but it also occurs on the other end – reading the letter. We are guilty of opening a card, flying through the message, giving a smile, and then tossing it aside. It’s okay to SAVOR. To at least take as much time to pour over the words as the it took the author to write them. It shows love, it’s shows intentionality, it shows a pause in time, all of which are not given enough attention in our day and age.
Now that we are encouraged to stay-at-home and to social-distance, this art is so much more prudent than ever before. While we may not be able to hug those we love and catch up over coffee, we can still show them we care. Let’s not let this season of life stop us from acting and trying and sharing and caring…let’s let it spur us on to becoming even more intentional, even more present, even more aware of how “busy” we are and how to overcome it, and even more apt to take 5 minutes of our day to write down the reasons that we love.
XOXO
