Oh, how East to West has grown and changed over the years.
We began in our parents’ homes, a state away from each other, designing options for a friend’s wedding invitation – our first client. A couple of months later, we were designing more wedding invitations, and some greeting cards. Pretty soon a friend asked for a logo, and from there it expanded into brand design.
You can see how the escalation continued…we attended our first markets with our greeting card line, that soon grew into art prints as well. We branded a logo for a client who asked us to help her with her marketing every month, and our first ongoing marketing client was born. Our wedding invitations grew to offer calligraphied envelopes, watercolor maps, unique paper options. We started building websites for clients, offering consulting, and much more.
Through it all, WE LEARNED. Oh, how we learned. Learned about balancing life and work. Learned about saying no. Learned about charity vs. profit. Learned about community over competition. Learned about each other’s work ethic, what makes the other tick, what inspires, pushes, drives each other. We learned more about God. We learned more about love as we stood by each other’s sides as we married the men God created for us. Now, about motherhood, as we rear the ones God has entrusted to our care.
Suddenly, we are in 2020. A year full of surprises and nothing that any of us expected. We are learning about sacrifice, and what it means to re-evaluate and re-adjust. We are so excited about and peaceful for our announcement about the recent changes to East to West. Our business will go back to its’ original purpose: designing wedding suites for our brides. We stretched too thin, sat back and prayed, and realized where God wants East to West to be in this season. We are so thankful and grateful for all of the support we have received over the years, and we pray East to West is a blessing to each bride that we are honored to work alongside.
XOXO
