The best job in the world.
It’s the sort of life-change that sneaks up on you, even after 9 months of expecting it. It’s a change that is suddenly there, in the flesh, staring up at you with tiny eyes and fists clutched tight. A change that suddenly makes you feel as if the cords that held you to the earth, are now attached to this tiny being in your arms.
In the society we live in today, motherhood is viewed in many different lights. Some women do not want children at all, other women mourn for children they can never have. God has blessed both of our families with a little girl in 2019, and we are forever thankful.

Alaya Jane Cottrell – born to Eli & Larissa on December 25, 2019.
It’s no secret that motherhood is challenging, however. Sleepless nights, times of sickness, the terrible two’s (we are not looking forward to this stage), and on into the teenage years (we’ve heard all about how scary this can be!) And while Larissa has only experienced the sleepless nights so far, we both see how the blessings outweigh the challenges.
We are looking forward to watching Aria and Alaya grow – who knows, maybe they will have an artistic side of their own someday.
